Daily Living at St. John Neumann Home
At Saint John Neumann Nursing Home, concern, care and warmth are extended to our residents and their families. A wide range of recreation and religious activities and services are offered for both residents and their families. Daily Mass, daily exercise, craft and cooking groups are a few of the regular activities offered to our residents. Through our programs, our residents often meet new friends and discover new interests. We offer regularly scheduled trips which keep residents involved in the community, and promote an active spirit. As Partners in Caring, family members and caregivers are encouraged to join in many of our special events such as our elegant Birthday Dinners, Summer Picnics, a weekly Social Hour, and frequently scheduled professional entertainment.
Dining & Nutritional Services
The dining experience is an integral part of daily life. Whether one chooses restaurant style dining in our main dining rooms or room service, our Dining Services Department provides a wide variety of nutritious meals and snacks. A registered dietitian will evaluate nutritional needs while also considering personal preferences. Special theme meals, holiday menus, picnics, and parties are celebrated throughout the year. Guests are always welcome to dine with loved ones.
Social Services
The Social Services Department is comprised of full-time, professional Social Workers whose primary duties include:
- Assisting with transition to a new living environment
- Discharge Planning
- Medical Assistance application preparation
- Resident’s rights advocacy
Salon
Beautician and Barber services are available on-site. Appointments may be scheduled on a regular, recurring or as needed basis. A full range of services are available and a listing of salon fees will be provided to you upon admission. Charges will appear on your monthly statement.
Laundry
Bed linens and towels are provided for each resident. Personal clothing may be laundered either by our staff or family members. There is a nominal charge for personal laundry. All personal items will be labeled by SJN staff at no cost.
