History of St. John Neumann Home

In the Spring of 1964, the Sisters of The Holy Family of at the request of His Holy Eminence, John Cardinal Krol, were asked to staff the new facility of Blessed John Neumann Nursing Home.

On September 5, 1965, the facility opened with an official dedication from John Cardinal Krol and on September 13, 1965 accepted it’s first 17 residents. In the first five years of operation, there were over 1300 admissions as well as 610 discharges back to community life. On July 19, 1978, Blessed John Neumann was canonized in Rome and the name of our facility was changed to St. John Neumann.

Today, St. John Neumann is a 226 bed, fully equipped facility surrounded by beautifully appointed grounds. It is staffed with caring, dedicated employees committed to providing every resident the highest quality of services while preserving one’s sense of independence and dignity.
